Default Upload ?

I'm using CoreFTP to upload a 2 disc show in FLAC. I've been uploading for over an hour and it isn't half done yet. I have a fast broadband connection...is it supposed to take this long to upload?

Had to stop for the night, I'll try to complete tomorrow. 2+ hours for disc 1, 12 songs. My directory was added to the server as was disc 1 and all it's tracks. I just didn't expect it to take that long. Transfer was about 57k/s.

I usually get about 180k up and my connection supposedly supports 5 mb/s upload speed. I've actually uploaded at 9mb/s before on another site. It's just the server, probably someone else was uploading while you were. What I generally do is let it upload while I'm sleeping.

Count your blessings. I have broadband too but usually only get an upload speed of 37kbps to this site. Have taken hours and hours (and hours) to upload some recordings. Have to be determined for sure. Letting it run while you're in dreamland works pretty well if you don't like to multi-task.

Also, does it hurt the integrity of the uploaded material if you use your computer while uploading?

My max upload sucks anyways, so it pushs out a max of around 65KB/sec on the server. I'm kind of surprised people aren't getting more than that. I'll try a server to server transfer and post the image.

From my home connection. I actually pushed 70KB/sec for a few seconds:

This is what I get from a T1 server I have colcated in San Diego, and PFWS is located in the Dallas area:

39264256 bytes sent in 64.49 secs (594.6 kB/s)

I'll try from a server in Chicago that is a 100mbit/sec machine.
------------------

From Chicago to PFWS:

4268032 bytes sent in 2.70 secs (1539.8 kB/s)

Although 1.5MB/sec is a fast upload speed PFWS is on a 100mbit/sec port and we should see max upload speed around 9MB - 11MB/sec.

I'll contact the datacenter as we are paying extra for this port speed.
