The studio disk of Ummagumma is mostly bad, save for "Grantchester Meadows," "The Narrow Way III," and some segments of "Sysyphus."
I love the live disk, though.

See, its thoughts like this, about MLOR and DB that just prove that so many don't get Gilmours genius

I agree with you completely. I love both MLOR and Division Bell. I think each are fantastic albums. Imo, the world of music would be much poorer without them. Seems like many people focus more on the lyrics rather than the actual music, and to really appreciate Gilmour you have to be more in tune with the music since he communicates mainly through his guitar. Pure genius.

I am also a large fan of Syd's work, before and after Floyd. But I believe Syd's genius was mainly in his lyrics, as is the case with Waters. To me, those two were very much alike. Syd, however, was nowhere near the guitarist that Gilmour is, and that's why I think most of the mood of the sound of Floyd came from Gilmour. Waters was mainly responsible for the concepts which the music was built around. I think of it in terms of Waters being the brain of Floyd, while Gilmour was the soul. I believe this is why they complimented each other so well. I suppose that's also why I like Gilmour so much, as I personally feel music is primarily more a matter of emotion than it is of thinking.
