Default Lazer Floyd - Laser Floyd

In 1982 my first experience with PF was when I went to a PF based lazer show inside the Fernbank Science Center located in Atlanta GA. It was completely dark inside the planetarian. It was announced that the show would last 90 minutes. I enjoyed it so much and the time flew by. I was 18 then and making a big note on my camaro, so I didn't have the funds to see it again, but I never forgot either.

Oh Man, I haven't seen a laser show in quite a while. When I lived in Bradenton, FL, they would have them at the Bishop Planetarian. They were every weekend, Friday, and Saturday nights. There were two shows every night 10:00pm and 12:00pm. My first show I saw there was DSOTM, and they did Sheep. Let me tell you, this room was about 50 feet in diameter, and they (a Tampa radio station who put it on) claimed to have 20,000 watts of sound in there. It sounded like it, you could not speak/yell to the person next to you during the show. The operators were in a booth in the rear of the room, they announced IF they could hear you asking to make it louder... They would, but not worries. They did a different artist every weekend, circling back to Pink Floyd at least once a month. They did DSOTM, Animals, WYWH, and The Wall (one per night). That I saw. It was absolutely fantastic, the ONLY rule was, if you left during the show, you couldn't come back in. Believe me that was the only rule.

After moving back to Ohio, there is nothing like it close to me. During a trip with the wife back to FL, we saw U2, Joshua Tree. I am not big on U2, but the show was great.

My brother in law has since told me the place burned down

I am happy you brought this memory back to the surface, to post about.

Default If I could see it again

If I could see it again, I would travel to any surronding state to see it. Maybe grab a bunch from the forum to go with me (wife ain't into it at all) to keep from being alone.

I'm truly dedicated fan and I'm so glad I found this website. I can't wait to get my tattoo.

I think that here in the northwest, Lazer Floyd is still shown in the planetarium at the Seattle Science center.
