Default JFK 1987

I'm looking for anyone else who might have been at the JFK show in '87.

I was there. It was the first time I got to see Floyd live. The weather was exactly what it needed to be - a slight misting rain, then Echoes.

The show was perfect.

My problem is though I just can't remember what they played to end the show. It was very strange. I had never been at a concert where the band left the stage for so long and then really came back. All of the house lights were even on.

They played one song which should have been SOYCD judging by the fact that it is last in the lists of bootlegs. Then they left again, came back after a much shorter period of time and did what somebody said was another song from Meddle. I was 17 at the time and wasn't a bg enough fan yet to know what it was. I am certain SOYCD was not the last song because I knew it extremely well at the time. Its possible there was even one more additional song after that but not sure as I remember my date trying to get us out of there to avoid traffic from the 100,000 other people.

If you were there, I would love to hear what you remember.

Default Guesses

I saw the tour, but not at JFK. I do remember reading that at the start of the tour, they were playing Echoes, then dropped it saying that they were moving beyond singing about Albatrosses. (I was sorry to hear that). Anyway, that was the time when they started playing "Run like Hell" and "one slip" as regular encores ... also "one of these days". I have seen them almost 20 times since 1972 (Radio city) and I will tell you that they are not very spontaneous. They have a set and they usually stick to it, changing it only slightly to suit their mood, timing, response or memory. ;-)
