Default Do You Think That We have Plenty RoIO's/VoIO's?

Do you think we need more voio's less voio's, more roio's, less voio's?

I of course love everything on here, and there certainly is a lot. But if I have to get greedy, I'd like to see more VoIos.

So your saiying you would like more lossless like flac and shn formats. Mp3 or wave is much easyer to download.

They may be easier to download but they are lossy. It is apparent that if a music file is compressed and there is a loss that the loss must be music. I would prefer to have as much of the music as possible. MP3 and other lossy compressions all use a lossy algorithm. This means that over time, these lossy recordings can be re-extracted and re-encoded so that it sounds very inferior to the original source. Lossless algorithms such as Shorten (.shn) and FLAC (.flac) allow for pure digital reproductions.

So what it comes down to is I would rather invest my time in downloading something that is better.

Good points, but for me, I like Mp3 because I'm on dialup when I'm downloading from home and so I can't even get Lossless files most of the time. Of course if I had fast internet and could get lossless files downloaded just as easily as Mp3s then of course I'd opt for them. I don't hear a difference between the RoIos I have that are in SHN or FLAC and the ones I have in Mp3 with a good bitrate. Maybe my ears just aren't good enough to notice or something, but I don't feel there's enough of a difference to be worth the huge file size, at least as long as I'm on dialup.

I don't think it matters If it is flac. shn. or mp3 it should all be the same sound quality. It's just a different file type.

I have collected both, now I only collect lossless. When you have both of the same show and a high quality sound system, lossless is a hands down winner. If all you are going to do with your files is listen to them on an ipod or the like then by all means MP3 is for you. If you ever wish to put them on a cd in wav format then NEVER do it from a MP3. That is ridiculous. Here is a visual example, take a small picture on your computer and expand it to full screen, looks like crap. That is what you are doing by converting a MP3 to WAV. If you would like to trade CDRs someday and gave a collector a MP3 sourced CDR , you would be black flagged and banned from the trading world, I am sure.
