Well, maybe not the best... but still, thinking of some live versions of "One of these Days", that was a pretty cool job. The later stuff wasn't so ambitious anymore, so people might think he wasn't good at all. As good as Ringo, I would say

Much like the Beatles who were also a super group with great music, the drummer for Pink Floyd was barely average. May not even be that. But they didn't require super drummers, so it doesn't matter.

I absolutely agree. His tom playing is nice – not forgetting the Time intro; over all a pretty good sounding drum kit.

hi,
Well, he's a part of the better, but (not because i'm french ans it's not the same) Manu Katche's the better (just for me)... i play drums since, "hum, let me think, arf too many years" But really on "have a cigar" his set is really great...

Not a real flashy drummer, but steady. I would say the comparison to Ringo is accurate.

Yes, I believe he was a good drummer maybe not the best out there but he had the job done.

Definitely a good drummer. Hey, he was part of Floyd. Can't do much better than that. He's no slouch, that's for sure.

Kaotic nailed it. He played in the sound that brings us here in search of another personal night of sounds that add more to the richness that is the Floyd.

He is an amazing drummer in my opinion. Even though he used a fairly simple style, it had musical taste, and stands out.
