the announcement on the radio said "record and cd convention this weekend...rare and out of print stuff. you might even find some bootlegs..."well, i was excited by that, because the closest i had to finding any of those were in the tiny printed ads in goldmine magazine.
my introduction into bootlegs began sometime in the mid 80's when i purchased "pink floyd: a visual history" by miles. anyone who has a 1st edition of this knows there is a bootleg discography in the back, and i had tried to track down some of these, but (and this was years before the internet) no luck. then, years later, i went to the above mentioned convention, and WOW!!! i couldn't believe all the cool shit i found. my 1st roio i ever got was "behind the wall" from nassau coliseum in new york, on the stonehenge label, and i thought it was the coolest cd set ever!
that was the beginning of a very expensive habit. i have collected some 60 + cd's over the years, and with downloading more available than ever, i am on my way to getting all the good shows that have been recorded. god bless the 'net!
